Sumukhi Seth’s Suave Ink gives you an option to get a tattoo in the comfort of your home

At a young age, Sumukhi Seth from Delhi has brought a huge change in the Tattoo Industry of the city. Her venture – Suave Ink, which is just a year old gives the customers the unique option of getting inked while sitting at their own homes.

We got the privilege to interview Sumukhi, scroll down to know more about her and her brand.

Tell us about the journey of your brand, Sauve Ink.
Suave Ink started in June 2016 and picked up very fast because of its sheer convenience of having the option to get inked in your own home and determination to break all the myths related to tattoos, which made the experience a far more memorable and cherished as opposed to going to any dark gothic tattoo studio. After recommendations from social media pages like LBB & Vagabomb, it grew even faster and has not looked back ever since. We have a long way ahead of us as this is only the beginning.

What were the challenges that you faced?
I didn’t have any difficult challenges. The only challenge I had was to market my brand to the right consumer as I am a female freelance tattoo artist in Delhi/NCR and word of mouth was my only initial marketing strategy, which slowly grew from social media to events.

When you do what you love you can never have enough

What has been the turning point of your business?
The turning point of my business has definitely been when my client recommended me to LBB and that really got me a great deal of exposure.

What are your thoughts on the current Indian market scene?
The current Indian market for my business is definitely good. A lot of people have begun accepting tattoos as part of themselves and open to the idea of adorning their bodies with works of art that hold depth and meaning to them. Along with the youth, an increasing amount of well-established adults ( i.e; doctors, engineers, soldiers, new mothers and fathers, artist, etc) are all getting accustomed and addicted to the pleasure of getting inked.

How do you cope with work stress and pressure?
I tremendously enjoy what I do, every bit of it! There are no stress levels or any pressure. When you do what you love you can never have enough. The very act of tattooing another, believe it or not, is what gives me the calmest and relaxed feeling. Being a certified Psychological counsellor I strive to make my clients feel the same during their tattoo.

What do you think are the advantages and disadvantages of being an entrepreneur?
Being an entrepreneur has its own ups and downs. The industry and people, in general, are so volatile, your advantage of yesterday turns into a disadvantage today. You can be your own boss and call your own shots but that is precisely what makes it even harder. There is nobody but yourself to hold accountable, for any success or failure. You have no other option but to bring your “A Game” every single time.

Any advice/suggestion for budding entrepreneurs.
Budding entrepreneurs must know that you must be like water. Fluid in accepting everything around you, yet persistent in your flow, for even a trickle of water over time, can alter stones. Nothing is impossible. Persistence is the key! But you can achieve this unstoppable persistence only if you love what you do. So pick what you do best and give it your best constantly and there will not be a force that can stop you from achieving all your dreams and aspirations.
