Jubilant FoodWorks to Boost the Franchisee of Dunkin’ Donut in India

In a way to increase the portfolio of Dunkin’ Donut in India, Indian master franchisee of the brand, Jubilant FoodWorks Ltd, plans to launch 100 outlets of it in next four years.

“We will open 80-100 Dunkin’ Donut outlets in the next four years to grow the brand. We are identifying locations where we can open these new outlets,” Jubilant FoodWorks CEO Ajay Kaul told PTI.

The franchise owner of Dominos Pizza claims that ratio of pizza chain in India is much higher than of the donuts.
“There are 600 outlets of Dominos but only 10 of Dunkin’ Donuts right now. Even when we open 80-100 more outlets, in terms of scale Dunkin’ Donuts will be smaller brand in Jubilant FoodWorks’ portfolio,” he said.

For Dunkin’ Donuts, the company would start opening outlets in the Western region. At present, all of its outlets are concentrated in the North India.

The company plans to open 125 Dominos outlets and 18 Dunkin’ Donut outlets with an estimated investment of Rs 250 crore in the current fiscal.

Jubilant FoodWorks’ today opened 600th Dominos Pizza outlet in south Delhi.

The company is targeting 20-22 per cent growth in turnover this year. During the the first quarter ended June 30 this year, Jubilant FoodWorks’ turnover was Rs 396.42 crore, an increase of 26.07 per cent from Rs 314.44 crore in the corresponding period last year.

“Despite the slowdown, we believe in the growth story here. We are making investment in our network expansion and new factories. We will grow by 20-22 per cent this year,” Kaul said.

When asked about where the growth is coming from, Kaul said: “50 per cent of our growth is from top 10 cities like Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore. But we are growing out network. This year we will enter 18-20 new cities to open Dominos outlets.”
