The function was jointly organized by Akhil Bhartiya Bahawalpur (State) Panchayat (an association of families who came from Bahawalpur in Pakistan in 1947 during partition and got resettled here in Rajendra Nagar, New Delhi) and Subhash Muttreja Foundation. The highlight of the program was the performance of the children on several famous songs like ‘LadkikiKhatthi’, ‘RadheRadhe’ etc, and a skit on Girl Child and also included recitation of several rhymes. The children also shared their experience as ‘Sneham’ and were more than happy to get such opportunities which otherwise would not have been possible. One of them named, Jyoti said, “we are happy that we are getting an education along with food with no cost and our parents have also allowed us to go to school every day.” She along with 200 more of her friends are being educated free of cost at the Sneham School run by this foundation. Small children were also seen enjoying the evening with their friends and family. Mr. Yusuf, appreciated the spirit the Subahsh Muttreja Foundation for this extraordinary service of imparting the children not just with education, to make them capable to move in society with dignity and respect, but also providing wholesome meals and free health camps every quarter. Mr. Yusuf added that this initiative adds value to the working force of future India of educating those who cannot think of having a regular education in any school due to poverty. Mr. Sushant Muttreja, son of Mr. Subhash Muttreja and the Managing Director of Cosmic Group said, “We initiated this program with the thought of educating those who otherwise cannot afford to go to school. We also provide tuitions to those underprivileged children, who go to regular government schools. We will soon start other courses like English Speaking courses and Specialized training on Sales, so that the students can build up their own future independently. We hope that with our small efforts we are able to make changes in the society and more people would join us in this noble cause.” This program was also a platform to recognize social workers who have been working tirelessly for a better society and were honored with the Subhash Muttreja Award 2013, by the foundation for their self-less and relentless effort.
