The Moustache Laundry,a venture of Moustache Solution private Limited, is a start up of two chartered accountants which has changed the definition of Laundry service.Our aim is to provide the most convenient and hassle free way to get laundry done, says the Director of The Moustache Laundry Mr. Sameer Jain.The company was started in 2015 in Pune with 6 franchised outlets till date.
Start by telling us why have you picked this sector, and how has your journey been so far?
I being a chartered accountant, knew it well that ours is a kind of job that requires personnel skills and hence, there is a limit to where we could grow this.While, laundry being a mass need and is a process driven industry, had a huge potential to explore.While one of my far relative had this business, which got sold off to Jyothi laboratories at a hefty valuation. That clicked me! We now not only do laundry, we have added strong technology, analytics and unique methodologies.
The journey has been quite a roller coaster, we have seen the worst and the best too. As of date, we are an on demand and locker laundry service with 6 franchised outlet.
What is the USP of your brand? Where do you see yourself in next 5 years?
Some of our competitive advantage are:
- Convenience: We offer locker laundry in societies/hostel/ colleges, where people could drop their laundry with unique passcode. We offer pickup and delivery and outlets at every neighborhood. We wish to provide a convenience such that laundry is never a to do task, in anyone’s life.
- Operational excellence: We have registered the lowest error rates in the industry (0.05%).
- User experience: We deliver awesome user experience, and that’s why we are the best rated laundry app in India (Google play store ratings)

How long was the business operating before it became a franchise network and how long has the business been franchised?
The business started franchising after 2.5 years, we are franchising from last 6 months.
What are your expansion plans in the near future?
We look to open up a total of 15 franchised outlet in Pune by 2018 year end.
What are the criteria for choosing a franchise and what are your expectations out of it?
First is of course the investment and risk appetite, second is the time and dedication the team could devote, third is patience.
How many franchise locations did you open at first and what is the current number of outlets you have?
We started off with 3 franchise (6 months back) and now we are at 6 franchised outlets.

We haven’t achieved any great success as yet, we are to still to make our story big.And I hope with right franchise coming in play, we could reach the heights.
