Australia’s Caroma enters India via franchise , launches bathroom products

Franchise India News: Leading Australian bathroom and sanitary ware brand Caroma today launched its range of ultra modern and water efficient toilets in the Indian market and said it plans to open 50 showrooms in the country within a year.
The Australian brand has entered into an franchise agreement with a city-based firm Starmerc Infratech.
Caroma’s first experience centre is coming up in Delhi, where the company would exhibit its range of products.
According to Clayton Ceramic Australia, GM International Sales and Marketing Aftab Ahmed, the company plans to open around 50 showrooms within a year.
“We would start from big cities as Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru as our product is for the premium segment. Then we would expand in Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities,” said Ahmed.
Clayton Ceramic owns the Caroma brand.
He further added that backed by constant R&D, advanced technical designs, Caroma product reduces 50 per cent water consumption.
Caroma range of products would start from Rs 60,000 to Rs 10 lakh. The company would also launch media campaigns highlighting these aspects, starting from November this year.
He further added that the company plans to have its products sold in at least seven to eight stores in a city.
Meanwhile, Clayton Ceramic Managing Director C S Chen said the company would focus on commercial, hospitals and school segment for its product.
Clayton, which would import its entire range of products from Australia, has special bathroom and sanitary ware products for physically challenged people and kids, he said.
“We were studying the India market for last four years and it has lots of potential,” he said.
Caroma, which has 70 per cent of the Australian market, produces a wide range of bathroom products including toilets, sinks, toilet seats, urinals, showerheads, bathroom fittings and luxury bathroom suits.
