Aaina Singhal- From Social Worker to A Successful Nutritionist!

Tell us about yourself & about your business?

About myself: Nutritionist, social worker and a content consultant. A graduate from Hansraj College, was active in Gandhi Fellowship from 2015-2017 and worked as a content consultant for Piramal Foundation. Later on, I completed my nutrition and dietetics course, studied exclusively online and opened up my business in 2019.

About the business: “When diet is wrong, medicine is of no use. When diet is correct, medicine is of no need”. Nutrition Science helps people to remember that food is the real fuel for the body and not pills. We help clients to build a relationship with food, prevent and cure diseases and nourish their bodies. We have catered to clients with weight issues, PCOD, thyroid, diabetes, blood pressure, stress and depression through mindful eating. We plan customized diets for our clients and encourage them to eat healthy to energize and nourish their health.

What is the story of your business?

Being on the heavier side since childhood, I was always low on confidence and gradually became an introvert. I missed all good opportunities and loneliness was my only friend. After many years when I was active in Gandhi Fellowship, I joined a fitness club as my friend pushed me to just get active. The first day was challenging but I did not give up. I looked up online, read books and planned a healthy diet for myself and lost 25 kgs in 3.5 months. I was filled with motivation and this boosted my morale to go forward in life. When I came back home, my father fell ill and was diagnosed with a life threatening disease. That day was the harshest day of my life. I decided to look after his well being and guess what; it could only be done through a proper balanced diet. Seeing my father’s health drop, my mother was succumbed into depression. I knew I had to do something to prevent all of it and to also look after myself. I studied for 3 years, completed my dietetics course and gradually opened my business. The business also offers free consultation to people from low income groups for malnutrition and pregnancy.
