Yum Brands to Add 100 More Franchised Outlets

Yum Brands which owns Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC), Taco Bell and Pizza Hut Restaurants had invested $ 100 million dollars in the year 2013 in India. At present they have 800 restaurants in India and they are planning to add 100 more outlets this year in partnership with its franchisees. Yum brands own 41,000 outlets across 125 countries.

Yum brands has appointed Mr. Niren Chaudhary as the president of KFC’s  global operations. He will also be handling the KFC operations in Thailand, Asia Franchise Business Unit , Canada, Latin America  and the Carribean.  Mr. Niren has 20 years of experience in restaurants industry and he has given his more than 10 years to Yum. He will be reporting to company veteran Mr. Micky Pant.

In the first quarter, KFC  sales fell to 11%  as reported by Edelweiss Securities due to its weak consumer demand and high competition with Dominos in India.

Yum brands works franchise model. Apart from this, there are many food and beverage brands who offer franchise opportunities in India.
