Dr. Harindu Vyas, Founder, Paratha Express

An American told to an Indian: – Pizza… that you are eating a lot is our discovery!! Indian gently replied to the American: – A Pizza… is just a Paratha that went abroad for higher education, while its grandpa is from India. In an interview, Dr. Harindu Vyas, Founder, Paratha Express shares the success and expansion plans of his company.

Tell us something about the origin, growth and success of ‘Paratha Express’?  When, where and how did it start?

“Paratha Express” a brand of GMJ Events & Hospitality started its journey from Janurary 2013, Dr. Harindu Vyas (PhD-Polymers & Plastics) is the Founder; one incident was responsible for the origin of  Paratha Express:- There were some guest at the residence of the founder-Dr Harindu Vyas, the guests were served with hot delicious Aloo Parathas & Mango Milk Shake. Out of all the guests one of the guest commented that how can you serve Aloo Parathas in main food course; this statement was deep rooted in the heart of Dr Harindu Vyas, and decided to work on something which would be the answer to the comment given by the guest. He deicided to have a brand for Parathas.

Although, Parathas being very common food product, there are no particular Quick Service Restaurants; which can serve Parathas quick & hot. So after tremendous research on the recipes, ingredients & presentation of the food, Dr Harindu Vyas came with his first outlet in Jetalpur-Baroda, which was a big hit, and within 6 months he started another outlet at Fathegunj-Baroda

Dr. Harindu Vyas thought that if any person wants to have healthy food & that to in the budget, what all options they have; you won’t believe that the option was a big zero. Because what all food was available was unhealthy & unhygienic. So, it was also one of the reason to start Paratha Express, & to provide a healthy & hygienic food.

Dr Harindu Vyas wanted that people should THINK ABOVE BUN.  BUN in different form like Burger, VadaPav, Sandwiches, all snacks containing MAIDA (Refined Flour). Paratha Express serves all stuff parathas made up of WHEAT FLOUR. Thus people can get the option of eating 100% wheat product by spending the same amount that they were going to spend for MAIDA products. Thus the concept of EAT HEALTHY FEEL WEALTHY was arise.

What inspired you to take the franchise route of Paratha Express??

After getting reviews in the form of appreciation from all the foodie people, one of his regular costumer suggested Dr Harindu Vyas, that why don’t you give such an excellent concept of Paratha Express nationwide. This way Paratha Express started moving on the franchise route. It’s very hassle free & simply plugs in model. Anybody can start his or her own Paratha Express restaurant or outlet, no matters whether he is expert or a learner in the field of restaurants.

What is the Specialty of Paratha Express? How are you different from the entire brand in Food & Beverages industry?

 The USP of Paratha Express is that, you get delicious Parathas in Trendy style. Our Parathas are crispy, beautifully bended, stuffing & healthy.

Truly speaking Paratha Express does not have any competitors, because it is a fresh, self-developed concept. In India there is no brand having similar concept as Paratha Express have. Thus it is an uncopied Quick Service Restaurant Module expanding in a confident way.

What is the eligibility you are looking in all the investor?

A prospective franchisee, should be loyal, should love eating food & should enjoy in making others eat the food. In short he or she should be a foodie guy with ambition to grow his or her Paratha Express business.

How many franchise outlets do you have and in which all cities?

As Paratha Express entered into franchisee module since November-2014, presently it has five franchisee in Gujarat.  And by the end of May-2015 there would be 8 fully running outlets.

What type of business support and training brand is providing to its franchisees?

Paratha Express is a brand of GMJ Events & Hospitality, and as a company it has got strong background & back up support.  Franchisees are like the family members, and our company gives all kind of support & training related to run an outlet, cost cutting, man-power mangement, area selection, etc.

What are the challenges that can be faced by a franchisee in this business? How can they overcome these challenges?

Running any business is a challenge, if it was that easy, than there won’t be any employee, all would be business owners. The challenges faced by Paratha Express are similar that all restaurant industry faces. Our in depth experience will help to overcome the challenges.

 

What are the company’s future plans in terms of expansion through franchising?

Paratha Express have plan of PAN India Expansion.
